This Privacy Policy explains how PREBAIRD PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”, “us”, operating the brand MERPAY & PREBAIRD PVT LTD) handles personal information collected through https://prebaird.com and in the course of providing bill payment services on the Bharat Connect network.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. Name, organisation, email address, mobile number, city and the contents of any enquiry you submit through this website.
Onboarding information. For partners, the entity and KYC documents required for due diligence, including identification documents of authorised signatories and beneficial owners.
Transaction information. Where we process a bill payment, the biller, consumer identifier, amount, payment mode, timestamps and the network reference number.
Technical information. IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed and referring URL, collected through server logs and cookies.

2. How we use it

To respond to enquiries and provide the services you or your organisation have requested.
To complete customer and partner due diligence, and to meet KYC/AML obligations.
To process, confirm, settle and reconcile bill payment transactions.
To investigate and resolve complaints, disputes and suspected fraud.
To maintain and improve the security, reliability and performance of our platform.
To meet legal, regulatory, audit and network reporting requirements.

3. Legal basis and consent

We process personal information on the basis of your consent, to perform a contract with you or your organisation, to comply with legal obligations applicable to us as a participant in a payment system, and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing our services.

4. Sharing of information

We share personal information only where necessary, and only with:

NPCI Bharat BillPay Ltd. and other network participants, to the extent required to route, confirm, settle or dispute a transaction;
Billers and Biller Operating Units, for bill fetch, payment confirmation and reconciliation;
Banks, payment aggregators and settlement partners involved in the flow of funds;
Service providers who host, secure, monitor or support our platform, under written confidentiality obligations;
Regulators, law enforcement, auditors and courts, where required by applicable law or lawful process.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

5. Data storage and retention

Personal and transaction data relating to payment system operations is stored on servers located in India. We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the service and thereafter for the periods required under applicable law, network operating guidelines and our record-retention policy — after which it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Security

We apply encryption in transit and at rest for sensitive data, role-based access control on a least-privilege basis, audit logging, network segregation between environments, and periodic vulnerability assessment and penetration testing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise; we do commit to investigating and responding to security incidents in line with our incident response plan.

7. Cookies

This website uses strictly necessary cookies for session handling and security, and may use analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not function correctly if you do.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law and to our regulatory record-keeping obligations, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, withdraw consent for communications, or request erasure. Please note that we cannot delete transaction records that we are legally required to retain as a participant in a payment system.

Our services are directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes affecting partners will additionally be notified through the partner console or by email.
